Korey Dominique Owens

Asheville Korey Dominique Owens, 6, of 278 Kent Drive and 10 Pensacola Heights, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital Systems. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Korey was in the Kindergarten class at William Estes Elementary School, and was attending ATA Karate School. He was the son of Eddie Dewayne Jordan and wife Casey Erin Jordan of Arden and Brandy Leigh Owens-Montoya and husband Gaudencio Montoya of Arden. Surviving in addition to his parents are his two brothers: Juan Carlos Montoya and Alex Romero Montoya; sister, Danielle Elizabeth Jordan; grandparents, Ronnie and Donna Owens of Leicester; grandmother, Sherry Owens and special friend, Tony Kooper of Canton; step-grandparents: Emilio Garcia and Engracia Huertha of Mexico and Eddie and Donna Rice of Fairview; paternal great-grandmother, Naomia Crisp Jordan of Weaverville; maternal great-grandparents, Gene Owens and the late Ann Owens of Asheville; maternal great-grandparents, Tom and Georgia Hamlin of Shady Valley, TN; several Aunts, Uncles & Cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy Stone and Pastor Doug Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Papaw Owens, Alan Youngberg, Mark Hansen and Eddie Rice. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in memory of Korey Owens at any branch of The Bank of Asheville.
