Leicester - Kirt Daniel Turbyfill, 71, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Turbyfill was the son of the late Earl and Lois Turbyfill, and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Glonnie Turbyfill. He was a dedicated church member and Deacon of Georgetown Baptist Church and was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. People who knew Mr. Turbyfill saw him as a faithful Christian, and a loving and humble man who loved life to the fullest. Surviving are his wife of 52 wonderful years, Audrey Turbyfill; his two sons of whom he was so proud: Anthony Turbyfill and wife Kelley, and Chad Turbyfill and wife Miranda; four grandchildren that he loved with all of his heart: Anna, Emma, Trace and Payton; sisters: Janet McFee and Barbara Henderson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Georgetown Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jacob Ellege and Rev. Keith Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 2:00 PM Saturday at the church. The family would like to wish a heartfelt Thank You to the staff of Care Partners Hospice for the care and support they have provided, as well as to Kirts longtime friend Bob Goodwin, who has been faithful to visit him every week for the past nine months.
