Asheville – Kirby Glenn McLamb, 80, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Benson, he had resided in Asheville since 1966. He retired in the late 90’s from the NC Department of Transportation following over 30 years of service, and was a US Air Force veteran. Mr. McLamb was the son of the late Pauline McLamb Adams. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Mancy P. McLamb and Pearl McLamb, who raised him, and granddaughter, Courtney McLamb. Surviving are his wife whom he married July 15, 1962, Norma J. McLamb of the home; sons, Kevin McLamb (Beth) of Alexander and Shon McLamb (Christina) of Asheville; grandsons, Josten McLamb of Gouverneur, NY, Sawyer McLamb of Charlotte, Hogan McLamb of Asheville and Kolby McLamb (Brittany) of Newton and granddaughter, Karlie Riddle (Max) of Rock Hill, SC. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, August 29, 2021 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen and Pastor Will Harris officiating. Military Honors will be provided by a detachment from Shaw Air Force Base. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.
