Kenneth William "Bill" Schilt

Asheville - Tech SGT. Kenneth William Bill Schilt, US Air Force (Ret), 80, of 23 Woodland Ave. died Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at the VA Medical Center. A native of Paulding Co., Ohio, he retired from the US Air Force in 1967 having served during WW II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. Mr. Schilt was the son of the late Carl and Alta Wright Schilt and was the husband of the late Nell A. Ray Schilt. He was also preceded in death by 6 sisters and brothers. Surviving are his daughter, Katherine Y. Schilt of Asheville; son, Carl R. Schilt of Skamania, WA; brothers, Ancel Schilt and John Schilt of Ohio; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. James Johnson officiating. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with military graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council/Volunteer Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
