Kenneth Luke Cook

Alexander – Kenneth Luke Cook, 73, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022. He had significant health problems for a number of years, but through his determination he was able to return home and enjoy life for the past six months.

Kenneth was the son of the late Luke Herman Cook and Doris Clontz Cook. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Martha Lucille Ward Cook. He was a native of Buncombe County, spending only the first years of their married life in Hendersonville.

Mr. Cook taught High School History at the North Buncombe High School, retiring after 33 years. To his last day, he knew history and the laws of our country.

Surviving are his sister, Patricia Marie Cook; nephews: Trajan Dogny and Aidan Dogny all of Leicester. His surviving aunts and uncles of the Calvin and Ann Cook family are: Meritta Bradley, Rose Corbin, Frank Cook and wife Lorraine, Kenneth Young Cook, Linda Cook, and Valda, wife of Tom Cook. Of that family of ten children, he kept track of his cousins and had many good memories.

Much credit goes to Trajan and Aidan Dogny for making going home possible for their uncle. So many thanks go to his wife’s niece, Melissa Hill, for staying close.

A service to remember the life of Kenneth Luke Cook and Martha Lucille Cook will be held at 3 PM Friday, December 9, 2022, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating.

The family will receive friends on Friday immediately following the service at the funeral home.
