Kenneth Leonard "Ken" Larsen

Kenneth Leonard Larsen, 81, of 62 Clarendon Road, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

A native of Cook County, Illinois he had resided in Buncombe County since 1971 and was a son of the late Clarence Melvin Larsen and Ruth Lindquist Larsen. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Jo Hyams Larsen, son, Scott Alan Larsen and brother, Ronald Melvin Larsen.

Mr. Larsen was a graduate of Western Michigan University where he received his BA Degree in History and served in the US Marine Corps Reserve.

He was a Professional Baseball Player having served in the Pirates organization as a Pitcher. While in the Leagues he played with the Asheville Tourist, Macon Peaches, Columbus Jets and in Grand Forks, N.D.

Surviving are his daughter, Beth King and husband, Scott and grandson, Kagen Rollins King all of Athens, GA, sister-in-law, Maryann Wilkerson of Boiling Springs, SC and several nieces and nephews.

No services are planned per his request.
