Kenneth Calhoun

Asheville - Robert Kenneth Calhoun, 82, Brickyard Road, Asheville, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2018. Kenneth was born July 16, 1936 in Jackson County the son of the late Robert Glenn Calhoun and the late Jessie Bradley Calhoun. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a daughter, Jessica (Patrick) Rachels and four grandchildren, David, Natalie, Annalee, and Makala; and special friend, Liz Cauble. Kenneth was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church. He loved animals, wild birds and traveling. He was a businessman, having owned several different businesses during his life. He was also a real estate developer. His family will receive friends on Saturday evening at Anders Rice Funeral Home in Asheville from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Old Field Cemetery in Sylva on Sunday at 2:00 pm. A private family viewing will be held from 1:00 until 1:30 pm at Appalachian Funeral Services in Sylva.
