Kathleen Trantham Sexton

Asheville - Mary Kathleen Trantham Sexton, 79, of 3864 Sweeten Creek Road went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 7, 2003 at The Oaks at Sweeten Creek following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was formerly employed with Deerfield Retirement Home as a Nurses Assistant and was a member of Oakley Baptist Church. Mrs. Sexton was the daughter of the late Lonnie Grady Trantham, Sr. and Fannie Miller Trantham Pinner and the wife of Paul Houston Sexton who died in April 1969. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Grady Trantham, Jr. Surviving are her son, Paul Sexton of Asheville; daughters, Sonia Edwards and husband, Mike of Hendersonville, Lou Ann Lunsford and husband, Lee Roy of Asheville and Donna Florence of Fairview; grandchildren, Elisha Williams of Asheville, Nelson Florence of Fairview and Shawna Shelton of Mars Hill; great grandchildren, Lane Williams and Logan and Adam Shelton; brothers, Harold Trantham of Asheville and Donald Trantham and wife, Betty of Candler. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Pierce officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, P.O.
