Karen Moss Grogan

Karen Moss Grogan, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2022, while surrounded by her loving family at her residence. A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas “Tom” Moss, Jr. and Irene Moss. Mrs. Grogan was a member of Cherryfield Baptist Church. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed arts and crafts, and fishing. Surviving are her children: Hugh Johnston and wife Becky of Brevard, and Diannia Johnston Nelson and husband David of Etowah; grandchildren: Amanda and husband Brad, Sam, Bryan and wife Danielle, Wesley and wife Currin, and Brittany and husband Brandon; great-grandchildren: Annie Kate, Rachel, Hayden, Zed, Bella, Camden, and Raylan; brother, Charles Franklin “C.F.” Moss and wife Annette; and niece and nephews: Mike Moss, Kris Moss, and Shea. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Friday, April 1, 2022, at Cherryfield Baptist Church, 2070 Whitmire Rd, Brevard, NC 28712, with Pastor Randy Shuler and Rev. Dr. Tommy Preslar officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of CarePartners Hospice and Loftis Oxygen for their compassion and care.
