Karen Haga Stanley

Candler – Karen Haga Stanley, 68, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 22, 2023, at her residence.

Karen was born on November 22, 1954, in Akron, Ohio, to James Philip Haga and Mabel Lee Burleson Haga. She resided most of her life in the Asheville area and graduated from Asheville High School in 1972 where she met the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Stanley. Karen was always a hard worker who always put the needs of her family and others ahead of her own, she had a passion for helping others. She was currently working at the Advance Auto Parts store in Oakley where she had recently received her 10-year pin. Prior to that, Karen had worked for Groves Printing and Blue Ridge Printing for more than 15 years, and Bank of America for more than 10 years. She and her husband were longtime members of Edgewood Baptist Church.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lynn Stanley.

Surviving are her loving husband of 50 years, Anthony “Tony” Douglas Stanley; son, Alan Douglas Stanley; “second son”, Dwayne Stanley (Jamie Williams); grandsons: Nathaniel Austin Stanley, and Andy Douglas Stanley; siblings: James Raymond Haga, Susan Phylis Haga, Juanita Aline Davis and husband Stan, and Sabrina Gene Howard and husband David; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Edgewood Baptist Church, 61 Moody Avenue, Candler, NC, with Pastor Keith Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 till 1:45 PM Wednesday at the church.
