June Murphy Hensley

Asheville - June Murphy Hensley, 83, of West Asheville died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center. Mrs. Hensley was the only child of the late Richard Fuller Murphy and Lillian Lucille Glover Murphy. She is also preceded in death by her husband, former Citizen-Times Associate Editor, Jay Hensley. June retired from the Air Weather Service in 1972, She later retired from Colorcraft of Charlotte for whom she drove all over Western NC picking up film and delivering pictures to CVS, Roses, Kmart and other stores. She is survived by her son Richard "Dick" Hensley of Raleigh; daughter, Teresa Wall and grandsons Jeremy Oland and Ryan Wyatt with whom she made her home and brother-in-law, Jack Hensley (Louise) of Burlington, NC. Mrs. Hensley was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Asheville. Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. David Blackman officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank her devoted caregivers, Meriam Gonzolas, Brittany Hensley, Jeanette Hyatt and the marvelous staff at the Solace Center.
