Julie Mirsberger

April 2, 1936 — January 9, 2023

Asheville – Julie Oborn Mirsberger, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Universal Health Care in Fletcher.

A native of Green Bay, WI, Mrs. Mirsberger worked as a museum curator for several museums in southern Westchester County in New York, including Philipsburg Manor, Van Cortlandt Manor, Westchester Historical Society and The Hermann-Grima House in New Orleans, LA. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Buncombe County in 2021.

Julie was a devoted wife and a super mom with a superb personality. She was witty with a sense of humor second to none. Her wealth of historical history and information on subjects was vast. She had a love for books that took up many bookcases in her home. Julie had a voracious need to find the answer to any question; before the internet existed. She was a devoted wife who traveled and lived in many parts of the U.S. in support of her husband’s career without any regrets.

Mrs. Mirsberger was the daughter of the late Dr. Edward Lefebvre and Jean Wright Lefebvre. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jean Mary Groce; son, Edward Joseph Mirsberger; and brother, Steven M. Lefebvre.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Robert E. Mirsberger; son, Robert J. Mirsberger and wife Jennifer Meyer-Mirsberger; grandchildren: Robert J. Mirsberger, Jr., Micah James Mirsberger, Kenneth A. Meyer, Tara L. Meyer, Haley Groce and Julian Groce; great-grandchildren: Aubree Mirsberger and Autumn Mirsberger; and brother, Mark Lefebvre.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.
