Julia Greenwood Wright

August 4, 1928 — February 9, 2005

Fletcher - Julia Criddle Greenwood Wright, 76, of 349 Foxhall Road died Wednesday February 9, 2005 at Park Ridge Hospital. A native of Buncombe County, she had lived in Henderson County since 1981. She was a longtime member of the Civil Air Patrol, the first woman ever admitted into the North-South Skirmish Assoc., competed with the Thomas Legion and was also a longtime member of the Asheville Rifle and Pistol Club. She was a daughter of the late Dr. Barte Greenwood and Alpha Criddle Greenwood. Surviving are her husband, Leo V. Wright of the home; son, Ian Wright and wife Shirley.; grandsons, Marshal and Walter V. Wright and granddaughters, Carol and Rebecca Wright all of Chester Va. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Metcalf officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society, 120 Executive Park Bldg. 1, Asheville, NC. 28801.
