Hendersonville - Julia Brinkley Ware, 87, of 842 Robinson Terrace, passed away Friday, June 23, 2006 at Beverly Health Care Center in Hendersonville following a period of declining health. A native of Buncombe County, she had resided in Vergennes, VT for many years before she and her husband returned to Western North Carolina following retirement. She was a member of the Fletcher Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Ware was the daughter of the late Wiley A. and Nannie Davis Brinkley, and the widow of the late John Earl Ware. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Louise Smith, who passed away June 5, 2006, as well as seven brothers and sisters. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Sue Lee and husband Michael of Asheville; son-in-law, Larry M. Smith of Asheville; grandchildren: Sheri and Jamey Atkins and Jeremy D. Lee, all of Asheville; great-grandchildren: Melyssa and Jay Atkins, both of Asheville; a brother, Clifford Brinkley of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday at Bent Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Gary Tolbert officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
