Julene Rhodes Colburn

Leicester – Martha Julene Rhodes Colburn, 75, of 31 Coyote Ridge Run went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at her residence.

A native and resident most of her life of Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Allie Mae Revonda Rhodes Surcey. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Shena Annette Wilson who died in 1993 and son, Stacey Allen Wilson who died in 2015.

Mrs. Colburn worked at Clyde A. Erwin H.S. Cafeteria as a manager, cook and server for 18 years and then for UNCA as a Supervisor in the House Keeping Department until her retirement and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Carl “Bob” Colburn; son, Shane Anthony Wilson (Amy) of Leicester, former daughter in law, Tracy Foster; grandchildren, Autumn Marie Wilson Angel (Stephen) and Cody Aaron Wilson; great grandchildren, Bella, Ayden and Avery; sister, Deborah Sue “Debbie” Fowler (Bruce) of Asheville; step daughters, Barbara, Charlotte and Heather and their families; brother in law, Edward Colburn; sister in law, Doreen Gerardi; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Lance Graves.

Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 14, 2022, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Brian Furches and Rev. David Grindstaff officiating. A private burial will be in Sluder Family Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
