ASHEVILLE Clara Mae (Judy) Tyson Rhodes went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 22, 2009 after a period of declining health. She was born in Ansonville, NC in 1925 and moved to Asheville in 1945. She worked in the data processing department of Dayton Rubber Corp. and for the Civil Service with Postal Accounts until she devoted her life to raising her family. She loved her GOD, church, family and friends. Her laughter and wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed. She was the daughter of the late Ann Eliza Tyson and Edgar Tyson. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 62 years, Max Edward Rhodes. She is also survived by her daughter, Betty Kindley and husband, John; and her son, Tom Rhodes and wife, Susan. Mrs. Rhodes has two granddaughters, Stephanie Hyatt and husband, Michael and Carrie Hollifield and husband, Jason. She dearly loved her three great grandchildren, Carson, Logan and Elle. Funeral services for Mrs. Rhodes will be held at Victory Baptist Church, where she was a member, on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2 P.M. It will be conducted by Pastors Mark Chase and Larry Sprinkle. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 P.M. prior to services at the church. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made and are appreciated to: The Victory Baptist Church Sound System Fund, Victory Baptist Church, 80 Olivette Road, Asheville, NC 28804 or to the charity of choice. The family would like to offer very sincere appreciation and thanks to Dr. Joel Rosenberg, the staff of The Laurels of Summit Ridge, Mountain Area Hospice and MEDIC Ambulance Service for the compassion and care they gave to our loved one in her time of need.
