Candler - Juanita Fender Dye, 73, of 114 Moody Ave. died Thursday, December 16, 2004 at her residence. A native of Madison County, she had resided in Buncombe County since 1945. She was a member of Good News Baptist Church. Mrs. Dye was the daughter of the late Hushai H. and Suffie Riddle Fender and was the wife of the late Boyd Lee Whitted who died in 1969 and the late Denver Willard Dye who died in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her son, Larry Dean Whitted; brother, Carlie Fender and sister, Mary Lou Fender. Surviving are her son, Danny Eugene Whitted and wife, Ruth of Candler; daughters, Debra Taylor and husband, Colin of Mebane, Danette Dubin Owens and husband, Greg and Dawn W. Pressley and husband, Jeff all of Candler; sisters, Patsy Waugh of Candler, Penny Sheppard of Waynesville, Judy McGimpsey of Morganton, Linda Frady and Brenda Tweed both of Candler and Irene Kiser of Hickory; brothers, Charles Fender and Landon Fender both of Candler; grandchildren, Jeremy, Savannah, Ryan, Christopher, Tyler, Cameron and Anna. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday at Good News Baptist Church with the Revs. Steve Smith, Jackie Collins and Harlan Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Jeremy Whitted, Ryan Gosnell, Christopher Gosnell, Colin Taylor, Greg Owens, Robbie Fender, Steven Griffin, Jeff Pressley and Tyler Pressley. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. At other times the family will be at the home of Dawn and Jeff Pressley, 36 Big Cove Road, Candler.
