Alexander - Juanita Alice Robinson, 90, formerly of 149 Gentry Drive, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Grace Healthcare of Asheville. A native of Yancey County, she had resided in Buncombe County since 1923. She was a member of Woodfin Baptist Church. She was a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother who loved scrapbooking and making quilts for family members. Mrs. Robinson was the daughter of the late Conera Gibson and Julia Alice Mathis Robinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Paul Woodrow Robinson, who passed away in 1999. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Alice Narsiff and friend Everett Ponder of Asheville; son, James Paul Robinson and wife Sonja of Hendersonville; grandson, Jimmy Robinson of Asheville; step-grandson, Rick Phillips and wife Shelia of Hendersonville; granddaughters: Rebecca Narsiff Dodd and husband Jay of Alexander and Dara Narsiff of Asheville; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Lancaster and husband Jason of Etowah and Ashley Phillips of Hendersonville; and a great, great-grandson, Jaxon Lancaster of Etowah. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Honeycutt and Rev. Tommy Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 5779, Asheville, NC 28813.
