Joseph "Joe" Michael Dawson

Joseph “Joe” Michael Dawson, 46, passed away unexpectedly Thanksgiving week, November 2024.

A native of DeLand, Florida, he moved with his parents to Swannanoa, North Carolina when he was 14, spent many years in Asheville, and recently resided in Marshall, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Michael Alan Dawson and Shara Lynn (Nial) Dawson.

Joe always showed a love for genuine connection with people. He enjoyed lively debates & banter. He would argue with anyone about anything. He knew no stranger.

He exuded a passion for; music, sports (especially watching the Miami Dolphins), politics (where the debating came in handy), writing (a special talent for story telling), and reading and researching whatever topic held his interest.

Joe demonstrated kindness and love to all animals. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and none more than his beloved Stu.

He loved spending time in nature whether foraging through the woods, camping at a lake or soaking up the sun on a beach. He always said his skin and hair loved the sun and salty air.

Joe was loved and entertained by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed. Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Jennifer Budzinski (Bill); niece, Kate; his aunts Lonnie Haseline and Shawna Beall, uncle John Nial, and many cousins including Savannah & Kelsey Beall, and his forever friend Nicole Jensen.

A celebration of life will be held on January 19th from 3:00-6:00 at Westville Pub, 777 Haywood Rd in Asheville, NC.
