Jonathan "Jon" Stephen Sparks

West Asheville – Jonathan “Jon” Stephen Sparks, 43, born on August 3, 1979, went to his eternal home on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

A native and lifelong resident of Asheville, Jon was a beloved son of Edward “Ed” Sparks and Anita Wills Sparks. He is preceded in death by his companion, Henrietta Caldwell.

Jon enjoyed working on cars and electronics and was able to fix most things. His passion in life was helping other and he loved being around others. He also enjoyed art.

Jon is survived by his loving parents, Edward “Ed” Eugene Sparks and Anita Mae Wills Sparks; children: Macaleigh Lynn Sparks, and Floyd Cayden Caldwell; sister, Tracie Lynn Sparks McMahan and husband Steven; brother, Jeffrey E. Sparks; and by many extended family and friends.

A funeral service to celebrate Jon’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Trinity Baptist Church, 216 Shelburne Rd, Asheville, NC 28806, with Pastors Allen Rash and Doug Guy officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Mountain Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 till 2 PM at the church.
