John Wesley Tensley

Fairview – John Wesley Tensley, 83, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024, at his residence.

A native of Transylvania County, he resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He was a son of the late John W. Tensley and Virginia Spurlock West. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Geneva Landers.

Surviving are his brother, Milas West “JR” and wife Jeannie; and granddaughter, Kathleen Rutherford.

In honor of Mr. Tensley’s wishes, there are no services planned. He will be laid to rest next to his daughter at the Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Marshall.
