John Wesley Fox

Woodfin - John Wesley Fox, 85, of Woodfin, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired in 1984 from American Enka after 43 years of service. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church, and served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Mt. Herman Masonic Lodge, and was a 32nd degree Mason. Mr. Fox was the son of the late John and Esther Ward Fox. He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Ethel Marlow, Lucille Bowen Edwards, Berniece Clark, Callie Fox, Faye Fox, and Carrie Bonham; and brothers: W.M. (Buck) Fox, Perry Fox, and Garland Fox. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Friday at the Sluder Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Keith Watkins officiating.
