John T. Meadows

May 9, 1925 — July 12, 2021

Asheville – John Troy Meadows, 96, of 25 Dove Road, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 12, 2021 at the Pelican Health at Asheville. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired in 1987 from Supply Specialities following 21 ½ years of service where he was in charge of Shipping and Receiving. He was a son of the late Ed Levi Meadows and Emmagene Teague Meadows and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Wells and Ada Meadows and nephews, David Lyday. Surviving are his wife, Betty Louise Shuford Meadows whom he married September 4, 1953; son, John L. Meadows of the home; daughter, Mary Mangum (Reid) of Raleigh; sister, Glennia Lyday (Ronnie) of Brevard and brother, Harry Meadows of Leicester. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Friday, July 16, 2021 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Pastor Mary Cash officiating. Burial will follow in Patton Cemetery in Swannanoa. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. A special thanks to all the staff and caregivers at Pelican Health at Asheville and Four Seasons Hospice for their love and support given to our family.
