John Robert Patton Sr.

John Robert Patton, Sr., 80, of Asheville, died Sunday December 29, 2013 at the Charles George VA Medical Center. A life long resident of Buncombe County. He was the son of the late James Elmer and Ruth Jones Patton. He was also preceded in death by his wife Nancy Irene Patton who died December 26, 2001, and a brother, Ralph Patton. John retired from Slosman Corporation, and was a veteran of the US Army. Surviving are his daughters, Linda Cheryl Patton of the home and Judy Bowlin (Tommy) of Leicester; son, John Patton (Ali) of Asheville; sisters, MaryAlice Westcott, and Phyllis Mulligan; brothers, Roy Patton and Eugene Patton; brother-in-law, Bruce Wilson; grandchildren, Tyler, Corey, Logan, Walker, and Kylee; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Thursday, January 2, 2014 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dean Clontz officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
