John Milo Hewitt

Asheville - John Milo Hewitt, 47, passed away early on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. John was born at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, OH on September 22, 1961. He spent his early youth in Levittown, PA before relocating to Williamstown, NJ in 1970. After graduating high school, John went to work for RCA in Alaska for several years. Upon returning from Alaska, John returned to Williamstown before moving to Philadelphia, PA. John enjoyed the city life and spent many years in Philadelphia where he worked as a drywall finisher while dabbling in landscape design in his spare time. John was very creative and enjoyed working in areas where he could express his creativity. He was especially talented with plants of all kinds. John began having health problems in the late 90s and soon after moved to Florida. John moved around Florida for several years before relocating to Asheville, NC a couple of years ago where he spent his last days. He is survived by his brother, Donald E. Hewitt of Huntsville, AL; sister, Sandra A. Truby of Poland IN; nephews, Carl and John Hewitt both of Huntsville, AL and a good friend, Gary King of Asheville, NC. John was preceded in death by his mother, Ann (Zukas) Hewitt of Poland, IN in May 2001 and his father, Cecil Ed Hewitt of Lutz, FL in March 2009. Arrangements were handled by Anders-Rice Funeral Home of Asheville, NC. A private memorial service is planned.
