John Henry Towe

Asheville - John Henry Towe, 83, of 199 Eliada Home Rd. died Friday. January 7, 2005 at the Brian Center of Weaverville following a short illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe Co. Mr. Towe retired from Sarah Scott Furniture Co. and was a furniture upholserer for over 38 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of W.W. II, son of the late Benjamin Harrison Towe and Addie Ann Jones Towe and the husband of Elizabeth Julia Lib Turbyfill Towe who died April 14, 2004. Surviving are his sister, Ruby Hensley of Ocala, FL; nephews, Keith Turbyfill and wife, Suzanne of Leicester and Gregory Turbyfill and wife, Teresa of Canton; neice, Pam Justice and husband, Jack of Asheville and several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Benson officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
