Joel Embler

September 20, 1953 — March 24, 2022

Joel Craig Embler, 68, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Sam and Dolores McIntyre Embler. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dawn Embler Boone and brother, Samuel “Freddie” Embler, his grandparents, Reverend Aaron and Ella Mae Holloway Embler, and Fredrick and Blanche Burnette McIntyre. Surviving are two sisters, Sandra Lynn Davenport of Morganton and Pamela Ann Lanius of College Grove, TN, and half brother, Rusty Jarrett of Wilmington. Also, surviving is an aunt and uncle, 3 nieces and 3 great nieces, 5 nephews and 8 great nephews. Joel was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church. He loved God and was a special blessing to his family. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 26, 2022 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Jack Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
