Asheville - Jobie M. Redmon, 76, of 73 Dryman Valley Road died Saturday February 5, 2005 at the Asheville VA Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Madison County, he had lived all his life in Buncombe County. He was a U.S. Army veteran or the Korean War and had been an active member of the board of trustees for Dry Pond Cemetery and Redmon Cemetery. He was the youngest of 15 children of the late James Berry and Matilda Freeman Redmon and the husband of the late Grace Reynolds Redmon. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Surviving are his daughter, Diana Redmon Fisher and husband Gary of Asheville; granddaughters, Amanda and Melissa Fisher both of Asheville; sister, Jessie Lewis of Candler and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Everette Haney officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
