Joanna Graham Browning

Arden - Joanna Graham Browning, 65, of 29 Azalea Rd. went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 27, 2002. Born in Gary, Indiana, she had resided in Buncombe County since she was twelve years old. She was a Cafeteria Manager with the Buncombe County Schools, retiring in 2000 after 30 years of service. She was a member of Arden Presbyterian Church. Joanna was the daughter of the late Ralph Joseph and Arvilla Stephens Graham. Surviving are her husband, Joseph Odell Browning of the home; sons, Joseph C. Browning and wife Marsha of Asheville and James Emmett Browning and wife Kathy of Conyers, GA; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Browning of Asheville; grandchildren, Jeremiah Joseph Browning of Asheville, Eric Dean Phillips of Alabama, Jacob Land Browning and Kristina Browning both of Conyers, GA, and Malina Sprouse of Asheville; sister, Sharon Bacek and husband Donald of Dahlonega, GA; brothers, Ralph S. Graham and wife Pamela of Alpharetta, GA, and Bill Graham and wife Kathy of Marietta, GA; best friend, Mary Fore: several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 1, 2002 in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Crystal Cook officiating. Entombment will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm Monday at the funeral home. Joanna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, P.O.
