Jo Ann Mcmahan

Asheville – Jo Ann Calloway McMahan, 83, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at The Oaks of Brevard.

A native and resident most of her life of Buncombe County, she was former Owner and Operator of Jo Ann’s Fashions and Limited Editions Clothing. She was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School and former member of Deaverview Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Zeb Franklin Calloway and Alley Belle Coleman Calloway, and wife of 52 years to Charles Edward McMahan who died December 28, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her nine siblings.

Surviving are her son, Terry McMahan and wife Rhonda of Chesnee, SC; granddaughters, Ashley McMahan of Waynesville, Taylor Houck of Chesnee, SC, and several nieces and nephews, including Diana Peterson, Susie Roseborough and Ronnie Capps.

Memorial services will be held at 11 am Saturday, March 11, 2023, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Watkins officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.

A private burial will be held at a later date at Green Hills Cemetery.
