WEST ASHEVILLE - JEWEL EVELYN DEBRUHL, 84, OF 15 RASH ROAD DIED SUNDAY JUNE 10, 2001 AT HER RESIDENCE. A NATIVE AND LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF BUNCOMBE COUNTY. SHE WAS A HOMEMAKER, A MEMBER OF WESTWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH, MEMBER OF THE LADIES BIBLE CLASS AND A VOLUNTEER FOR ELIDA HOME THRIFT SHOP. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE ULUS VASCOMB AND BLANCHE WHITE BROWN AND WIFE OF THE LATE JOE PAYNE DEBRUHL WHO DIED 9-9-1989. SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER SISTERS, JUNIE GIBSON AND STELLA SLUDER AND HER BROTHER, J.V. BROWN. SURVIVING ARE HER SONS, BILLY J. DEBRUHL OF ASHEVILLE AND LARRY J. DEBRUHL AND WIFE GLORIA OF NASHVILLE, TN; SISTERS, VIRGINIA LEE PARHAM OF LEICESTER AND OLETTA SLUDER OF ALEXANDER; BROTHER, IRLAND BROWN OF HENDERSONVILLE; SIX GRANDCHILDREN, TWELVE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS. FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD A 11:00 A.M. WEDNESDAY AT ANDERS-RICE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL WITH THE REV. ROBERT TEAGUE OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN GREEN HILLS CEMETERY. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS 7 TO 8:30 P.M. TUESDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME AND AT OTHER TIMES WILL BE AT HER RESIDENCE. MEMORIALS MAY BE MADE TO: WESTWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH, 150 WESTWOOD PL., W.
