Jerry Frady

Candler - Jerry Wayne Frady passed away peacefully at Pisgah Manor on Thursday March 3, 2022. Jerry was born on December 4, 1951. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Sue Frady. He was a lifelong resident of Candler NC, and a member of the Morgan Cove community. He loved the Lord and the majority of Jerry’s life he was actively involved at Sunrise Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, choir director, and the assistant Sunday school director. In recent years Jerry joined his family as a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church. He worked at Carolina Enterprises for 17 years, followed by a career in the insurance industry, where he sold insurance to most of WNC. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish with his friends and family and was the best cook around. Jerry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Shipman Frady, his sons Jeff Frady and wife Kasey, and Jamie Frady and wife Allison and his “third” son Woody Trotter and wife Anna and their son Matt. He is also survived by his grandchildren Josie, Coleman, Kennedy, Lyla, Morgan, and Laney who he loved and adored, special cousin, Doyce Burnette, wife Pat and son Chris, and a host of family and friends. He loved his dog Maggie very much. Jerry was loved by anyone who met him. The funeral services will be held at 4pm on Sunday March 6, 2022 at Pole Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Ben Heise, Rev. Dennis Thurman, and Harold Laflin officiating. His family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00-3:30. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Morgan, Corey Thurman, Jake Payne, Jason Hurley, Donnie Haynes, Joe Edmonds, Matt Elliott, Cecil Roberson, Glenn Wilson, Ricky Wilson, Jeremy Whitted and J.C. Martin. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the care given to Jerry at Pisgah Manor and DeVita Dialysis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Pole Creek Baptist Youth Ministry, 96 Snow Hill Church Rd, Candler, NC 28715.
