Jerry Douglas "J.D." Stanley

Fletcher - Jerry Douglas J.D. Stanley of Claru Ridge passed away unexpectantly Saturday July 8, 2006 at his residence. A native of Jackson County, he had resided in Buncombe County most of his life and was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of WW II . Mr. Stanley was a Building Contractor of new homes and a member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Major A. Stanley and Eula Moss Stanley and was also preceded in death by his sister, Vava Foster. Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Ruth Fuller Stanley of the home; sons, Anthony Stanley and wife Karen of Candler and Dwayne Stanley of Asheville; step children, Gregory Moore of Enka, Jonathan Moore of Fletcher and Catherine M. Felkel and husband, DeWayne of Mooresville; sister, Rubye S. McIntyre of Candler; 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3 pm Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Babb officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
