Jeannette Payne

Hendersonville Ruth Jeannette Cannon Payne, 78, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Hendersonville Health & Rehab Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she assisted her husband at Paynes Tool & Cutter Grinding before retiring and was a 1956 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School. Mrs. Payne was the daughter of the late John Jack Cannon and Sadie Ruth Lawing Cannon and wife of Cecil Milton Payne who died April 11, 2008. Surviving are her daughters, Renee Payne Reeves (Larry) of Hendersonville and Ladonna Payne Norwood (Bill) of Arden; grandson, Taylor James Reeves of Hendersonville; brother, Johnny Cannon of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Combs officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Adult Day Care Center, c/o CarePartners, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
