Jeanne Francine Park

Jeanne Francine Park, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, NC.

A native of New York, Jeanne later made Florida her home before settling in Asheville, NC. She was the beloved daughter of Morris and Margarete Rice and the devoted wife of the late Robert Scott Howland, Sr. and the late Harold Park.

Throughout her life, Jeanne held many roles, from warehouse manager and pharmacy technician to breaking barriers as the first female sanitation truck driver for BFI. Her resilience and determination defined both her career and personal life.

A woman of deep faith, Jeanne loved Jesus and found joy in singing with the church choir in her younger years. She was known for her unwavering morals, courageous spirit, and steadfast loyalty. Her love for nature, passion for art, and musical talent brought light to those around her. She played multiple instruments—most fondly the violin, guitar, and organ—and even recorded her own music.

Jeanne’s greatest joy was her family. As a devoted mother, she poured her heart into raising her children, serving as a Cub Scout den leader, elementary school art teacher, and little league baseball coach. She always put her loved ones first and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Howland, Briane Howland, and Robert Howland, Jr. and his wife Jennifer; her caregiver, Dennis Magero; daughter-in-law, Michelle Howland; sister, Darlene Patishnock and her husband Ron; and cherished grandchildren, Ford and Presley Howland, Scott Howland, Elana Howland, and Brayden Kirkland.

A joint funeral service honoring both Jeanne and her husband, Robert Howland, Sr., will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
