Jeanette Moss Maxwell

Asheville - Jeanette Rebecca Moss Maxwell, 74, of 74 Waters Road, died Sunday February 10, 2002 at her residence. A native of Gaffney SC, she had lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She had worked for Drexel Heritage Furniture Company and attended Happy Valley Baptist Church, Cedar Mountain Baptist Church and Bergins Chapel. She was a daughter of the late Fred Moss, Sr. and Mattie Cody Moss. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Luther Maxwell and great grandson, Tyler Meadows. Surviving are her daughters, Diana Baker and husband, Arvil of Arden and Lucille Baker and husband, Eddie of Haw Creek; son William Maxwell, Jr. and wife, Mary of Asheville; sisters, Lillie Bell Puckett and Dora Lanier both of Union, SC and Lois Well of Greenville, SC; brother, Fred Moss, Jr. of Union, SC; nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Mountain Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Page and Russell Gillespie officiating. Burial will be at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
