Jean Koppisch Lutz

Jean Koppisch Lutz, 98, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at the CarePartners Hospice Solace Center.

A native of Union County, NJ, she traveled the country living in many places until settling in the mountains of Asheville, NC more than 30 years ago. She was a daughter of the late Arthur R. Koppisch and Marie Wotelko Koppisch. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. Lutz; and brother, Dr. Arthur R. Koppisch, Jr. and sister-in-law, Annemarie.

Mrs. Lutz worked for the Salinas California High School District for many years. She enjoyed reading, traveling outside the US (from India to Japan, from England to Europe), being out in nature, and was always curious about life and the lives of those she was around. She was loved by all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters: Kathy Penland (husband, Bob), Mary Jean Taboloff, Barbara Lutz, and Margaret Fagg (husband, Kyle); grandchildren: Jeffrey Taboloff, Kevin Fagg (wife, Kiki), and Cassidy Fagg; great-granddaughters: Calie Fagg, and Kylie Fagg; and many extended family members.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
