Candler – Lou Jean Singleton Cole, 84, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at her residence. A native of Waynesville and resident of Asheville most of her life. She retired from Mission Hospital where she served in the Laundry Dept and was formerly employed with National Linen Corp for 10 years. Mrs. Cole also worked the Flower Garden at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory for many years and attended Luther Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mrs. Cole was the daughter of the late John William Singleton and Peggy Jean Warren Lewis. She was also preceded in death by her son, Billy Ray Williams. Surviving are her husband whom she married June 19, 1988, Samuel Lee Cole of the home; children, John Scott and girlfriend Davida Felkel and David Price and wife Jennifer all of Asheville, Steve Price and girlfriend Tabitha Hampton of Mars Hill; Kristie Coffey and husband Ronald of Candler; stepdaughter, Christy Morrow and husband Henry of Black Mountain; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, March 27, 2021 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Rev. Jane Evans and Rev. Neil Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will have a time of gathering from 7 to 9 PM Friday, March 26, 2021 at the funeral home.
