J.C. Maynard

Weaverville - James Clyde Maynard, Jr., 83, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2012 at his residence. A native of Yancey County, he had lived in Weaverville most of his life. He was Owner & Operator of JCs Auto Service for 45 years. Mr. Maynard was a son of the late James Clyde and Rena Renfro Maynard and husband of Martha Maynard who died March 25, 1998. He was also preceded in death his grandsons, Tommy and Matthew Jones and sisters, Gladys Shindell, Hazel Myers and Louise Rogers. Surviving are his son, Donnie Maynard of Weaverville; daughter, Debbie Jones and husband Tom of Asheville; grandchildren, Roger, Heather and Travis Maynard; great granddaughter, Raegan Maynard; daughter-in-law, Kathy Maynard; sisters, Mildred Hensley, Shirley Ray and Faye Gunn all of Weaverville and brother, Derion D.L. Maynard of Asheville. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. David Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
