J.B. Shepherd

Asheville James Bennett J.B. Shepherd, 75, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the St Joseph campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Yancey County, he had resided in Buncombe County for most of his life. He was a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Shepherd was a son of the late Donald Jerry Shepherd and Alice Jo Penland Shepherd and was also preceded in death by his brother, Earl Shepherd and sister, Madge Harris. Surviving are his brothers, Carroll Shepherd and wife Jo Ann of Asheville, Denver Shepherd and wife Judy and Frank Shepherd and wife Dorothy all of Leicester & several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. Johney Raines officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
