Janice Irene Payne

Asheville - Janice Irene Payne, 72 years old, passed away at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center on Thursday, June 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Theola Payne, sisters Gloria Simpson and Pixie Cawley, and niece Cara Penland. She is survived by her sisters, Joyce (Walter) Penland, Karen (Michael) Rogers and several nieces and nephews. If you had the pleasure of knowing Jan like her family did, you knew you could expect a phone call from her on your birthday and anytime bad weather was headed your way. Her heart was always thinking about others and making sure we were all prepared and safe. Jan also loved her job at Ingles, where she worked for more than 20 years. Even after retiring, you could find her every Wednesday morning at Ingles in Skyland, having coffee and visiting with her friends. She will be greatly missed by so many. Private graveside services will be held at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. Her family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Thomas Rennard, and to the staff at CarePartners for her care.
