Janice H. Monday

Fairview Janice Hagan Monday, 82, of 31 West Monday Ridge Road, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. Mrs. Monday was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She worked for many years with Mungo, Stewart & Bosworth Accounting Services and currently was self-employed, serving as Bookkeeper for several local businesses of which she was most proud of. She attended Temple Baptist Church and was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. Mrs. Monday was the daughter of the late Sam J. Hagan and Madeline M. Sprouse Hagan and wife of Paul Ray Monday who died December 13, 1989. Surviving are her best friend, Bill Pressley of Asheville; children, Deborah Lynn Woody and husband James of Wilmington and Larry Ray Monday (Gladys) of Fairview; grandsons, Mark Woody and wife Lee Ann of Concord, NH, Scott Calton and wife April of New Castle, PA and Johnathon Henderson of Asheville; great grandchildren, Brandon, Bryen, Kylie, Avery, Emery and Brett. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, October 9, 2015 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Bray officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
