Janice Buckner Crowder

Asheville - Janice Buckner Crowder, 71, took her first peaceful breath in heaven on Thursday, April 6th, 2023.

A native of Buncombe Co., Janice was the daughter of the late Jennings Coy (Junior) and Eleanor C. Buckner.

She was a graduate of Lee Edwards High School, Class of 1969. She recently retired from her career after 53 years as a hairdresser. She attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Asheville for many years. She was an avid gardener, lover of flowers and collector of various elephant figurines.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie Crowder; brother, Donald C. Buckner, and wife Deborah. Nephew Billy Buckner and wife Hayley; niece Christi Tanner and husband Tom, and multiple grand nieces and nephews. Brother and sister-in-law Rick and Denise Huntley.

The funeral service for Janice will be held at Anders-Rice Funeral Home on Monday, April 10th at 2:00pm. Pastors Keith Watkins and Garry Rogers will officiate. Interment will follow at New Liberty Baptist Church cemetery.
