Janet Goode

Asheville – Janet Goode, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at her residence. Janet graduated from West Henderson High School and in her early days worked for the FBI, later she worked for the City of Asheville in the Purchasing Department until retirement following 30 years of service. She was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church where she was active in the church ministries. She is preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Joseph; sister, Julie; and brother, Jeff. Surviving are her best friend and companion of 35 years, Larry Smith of Weaverville; many friends, and her beloved church family. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, August 9, 2021, at Newbridge Baptist Church, 199 Elkwood Ave, Asheville, NC 28804, with Rev. Clark E. Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Mrs. Goode will lie-in-state for 1 hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
