Jan Mathew "J" Chauvin

June 20, 1958 — April 3, 2014

Jan J Mathew Chauvin, 55, of Candler, NC and formerly of Morgan City, LA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Chauvin was the son of the late Clayton William and Billie Ann Boudreaux Chauvin. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Buckner. Jan J was a member of Redemption World Outreach Center, Greenville, SC, and VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America). He was an accomplished musician, and artist, specializing in oil painting. He was a loving husband, father, friend, and known as a man after Gods own heart. Surviving is his wife, Cindy Clayton Chauvin; grandchildren: Alyssa Buckner, and Elijah Buckner; sisters: Donna Bucci of Morgan City, LA, and Ann Oncale of Morgan City, LA; brothers: Louis Chauvin of Morgan City, LA, John Chauvin of Garland, TX, and Barry Chauvin of Asheville, NC; nieces and nephews: Kelsy, Rachel, Ellie, Zach, Jessica, Adrienne, Mark, Scott, Valerie, Amber, and Arthur Louis; and by many great nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 PM Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Crossroads Assembly, 20 South Bear Creek Road, Asheville, with Pastor Glenn Abbott and Pastor Wade Zachary officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorial can be made in his honor to the Jan Mathew Chauvin Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank, 53 Westridge Marketplace, Candler, NC 28715.
