James Wilson "Pat" Langston

October 28, 1920 — January 10, 2002

Asheville - James Wilson Pat Langston, 81, of 10 Forestdale Drive, died Thursday January 10, 2002 at Memorial Mission Hospital after an extended illness. A native of Ozark, Ala., he resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He was a former co-owner of L. C. Langston and Sons Textile Co. and a member of Biltmore United Methodist Church. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. where he served in the 8th Photographic Technical Squadron and was a member of the V.F.W. post #891. He was a son of the late Lloyd Copeland Langston and Vera Trout Langston and was also preceded in death by brothers, L.C. Langston, Jr., William Langston and Tommy Langston and sister, Martha L. Harrellson. Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Virginia Banks Langston of the home; Brothers-in-Law, Carroll Banks and wife Joan and Cline Banks all of Asheville and Sister-in-Law, Jean Keyes and husband Jack of Etowah. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Abbot officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park with military graveside rites conducted by The Buncombe County Veterans Council Volunteer Memorial Team. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
