James William "Jim" Reaves Sr..

Marion - James William Jim Reaves, Sr., 68, of 915 Goose Creek Road died Friday, December 6, 2002 at the Asheville V.A. Medical Center following a short illness. A former resident of Wilmington. He had resided in Candler from 1960 until moving to Marion in 1995. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was formerly Vice-President of LKF Management (McDonalds Restaurant). Mr. Reaves was the son of the late Leo Gregory and Nettie Sutton Reaves and was also preceded in death by his half brothers, Aubrey Jones and Oscar Jones. Surviving are his daughters, Teresa Reaves of Candler and Donna Reaves Wilson and husband, Jim of Maryville, TN; son, James William Jim Reaves, Jr. and wife, Shari of Asheville; grandchildren, Josh Robinson, Alisa Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Brooke Reaves and Lauren Reaves; brother, Robert Reaves of Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Nieting officiating. Pallbearers will be James Reaves, Jr., Josh Robinson, Alisa Wilson, Andrew Wilson, Jim Wilson, Jimmy Christopher, Chuck Laney and Bill Jackson. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Graveside rites conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 10:30 to 11a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the McDowell Agricultural Center, Inc., % Boyce Pool - Treasurer, 46 Sunland Drive, Marion, N.C. 28752.
