James Robert Cordell

Asheville –James Robert Cordell, 81, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Aston Park Health Care Center.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Melton and Bertha Cordell and husband of 60 years to the late Nadine Elizabeth Cordell who passed away on April 27, 2024. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Cordell Moody; and brother, Bill Cordell.

Mr. Cordell graduated from Enka High School and worked for American Enka, Mission Hospital, and Nypro. He enjoyed attending Asheville Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are his many beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12 PM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Tim Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11 AM till 12 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
