James "Jimmy" Morgan Jr.

Asheville James Jimmy Morgan, Jr., 71, of 15 Curci Drive, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005 at the John F. Keever Solace Center following a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired from Buncombe County as a night watchman at the courthouse with 42 years of service. He was the son of the late James Morgan, Sr. and Roxanne Medford Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Lucille Redmon Morgan, and his sister, Frances Burris. Surviving are his daughter, Linda Morgan, of the home; three brothers: Carl Morgan of Enka, Joe Morgan of Fletcher, and Rev. Alvin Morgan of Brevard; cousins: Charles Dodson, Radeana Dodson, Larry Dodson, and Jonathan and Danny Dodson; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Alvin Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM Monday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
