James Franklin Hyatt Jr.

Asheville - James Franklin Hyatt, Jr., 75, formerly of 84 Lakeside Drive, died Wednesday August 6, 2008 in Peachtree City, GA. A native and resident most of life of Buncombe County, he recently moved to Peachtree City, GA to be closer to his family. He retired as an Inspector for the Engineering Department of the City of Asheville and along with his wife of 47 years, attended Sulpher Springs Park Baptist Church in West Asheville. He loved hunting, fishing and being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed. Mr. Hyatt is the son of the late James Franklin Hyatt and Ada Burrell Hyatt and husband of Betty Jean Freeman Hyatt who died January 18, 1997. He is also preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Hyatt, Helen Adcock and Betty Sholar. Surviving are his daughter, Eva Hyatt of Asheville; sons, Randy Hyatt & wife, Lisa of Madison County, NC, Mike Hyatt & wife, Peggy of Clover, SC, Terry Hyatt of Asheville and Tim Hyatt & wife Sandy of Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren, Kellie, Corey, Wendy, Chris, Ashley, April, Jason, Andrea, Cameron & Shelby; great-grandson, Colbey Hyatt. Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Redmond officiating. Burial will follow in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
